BIOMEETUP — Cookie Policy

Last updated: 5 October 2026

1. Introduction

BioMeetUp is operated by BIOTRIAL PARTNERS PTY LTD (ACN 686 373 366, ABN 40 686 373 366) (“BioMeetUp”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

This Cookie Policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies when you visit or use the BioMeetUp website and Platform.

This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains more generally how we collect, use and protect personal data.

2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

Cookies are small text files that websites may place on your device when you visit them. They allow websites to recognise your browser or device and perform functions such as maintaining sessions, remembering preferences and understanding how a website is used.

We may also use similar browser technologies, including local storage and session storage. These technologies can perform similar functions by storing information on your device.

In this Cookie Policy, references to “cookies and similar technologies” include these technologies where applicable.

3. How We Use Cookies and Similar Technologies

BioMeetUp uses cookies and similar technologies for limited purposes associated with operating, securing and improving our website and Platform.

The technologies we use generally fall into the following categories.

3.1 Strictly Necessary Technologies

These technologies are necessary for our website or Platform to operate securely and correctly.

They may be used to:

  • authenticate users and maintain login sessions;
  • maintain security and help prevent misuse;
  • maintain session continuity;
  • support subscription and payment processes;
  • provide functionality specifically requested by a user; and
  • remember privacy and cookie choices where necessary.

Because these technologies are necessary to provide the website or Platform, they generally cannot be disabled through our cookie consent controls.

You may be able to block them through your browser settings. However, doing so may prevent parts of BioMeetUp from functioning correctly, including login, authentication, payments and other Platform functionality.

3.2 Preference and Functionality Technologies

We may use cookies and similar technologies to remember choices you make or maintain functionality during or between visits.

For example, these technologies may be used to:

  • remember interface or Platform preferences;
  • remember that you have dismissed or viewed certain notices;
  • preserve relevant settings;
  • remember your cookie preferences; and
  • provide functionality you have requested.

Some preference technologies may be necessary for functionality you specifically request. Where a preference or functionality technology is not strictly necessary and applicable law requires consent, it will be subject to the relevant consent controls.

3.3 Analytics Technologies

We may use analytics technologies to understand how visitors and users interact with BioMeetUp.

These technologies may help us understand information such as:

  • which pages and features are used;
  • how visitors navigate through the website;
  • general usage and performance patterns;
  • session and interaction information; and
  • technical information about browsers and devices.

Analytics information is used to understand and improve our website, Platform and user experience.

Where consent is required by applicable law, analytics technologies are not activated unless and until the required consent has been provided.

3.4 Advertising Measurement Technologies

If you choose to allow advertising measurement, we use Google Ads conversion measurement technologies to understand whether our own Google advertising led to a BioMeetUp account being created.

These technologies may:

  • store an advertising click identifier from the web address you arrived from in a first-party cookie on your device;
  • record that an account registration was completed, together with general, non-identifying details such as the sign-up method and broad account category; and
  • share that measurement information with Google so that we can see which of our advertisements are effective.

We do not send your name, email address, company or BioMeetUp account identifier for this purpose, and we do not use these technologies for remarketing, audience building or personalised advertising.

Advertising measurement technologies are not activated unless and until you choose to allow them. Google may process this information in accordance with its own terms and policies, including as described at business.safety.google/privacy.

4. Third-Party Technologies

Some functionality provided through BioMeetUp may involve cookies or similar technologies operated by third-party service providers.

These may include providers supporting functions such as:

  • payment processing;
  • analytics;
  • measuring the effectiveness of our advertising;
  • mapping and location functionality; and
  • other functionality requested or used through the Platform.

Where a third party independently determines how information collected through its technologies is processed, its own privacy and cookie policies may also apply.

We do not control cookies placed directly by third-party websites that you visit outside BioMeetUp.

5. Advertising and Cross-Site Tracking

BioMeetUp does not use cookies for behavioural advertising, remarketing or to build advertising profiles for cross-site targeted advertising.

With your consent, we use advertising measurement technologies only to understand whether our own advertising led to an account being created, as described in section 3.4. You can choose to allow analytics without allowing advertising measurement, and the reverse.

If our use of cookies materially changes in the future, we will update this Cookie Policy and, where required, obtain appropriate consent before using such technologies.

6. Cookie Consent and Your Preferences

Where required by applicable law, BioMeetUp provides controls allowing you to make choices about non-essential cookies and similar technologies.

Strictly necessary technologies may operate without consent where permitted by applicable law because they are required to provide functionality or services you have requested.

Non-essential technologies requiring consent will not be activated until the required consent has been provided.

Your cookie preferences may be stored so that we can remember your choice.

You can change your available cookie preferences at any time using the Manage cookie preferences control on our website. If you withdraw consent for advertising measurement, we stop using those technologies and delete the advertising measurement cookies we set on our website.

Changing your preferences does not necessarily remove cookies or information that were previously stored on your device. You may remove existing cookies or browser storage through your browser or device settings.

Current choice: not yet decided

7. Managing Cookies Through Your Browser

Most browsers allow you to manage cookies through their settings.

Depending on your browser, you may be able to:

  • view cookies stored on your device;
  • delete existing cookies;
  • block some or all cookies;
  • allow or block cookies from particular websites; or
  • configure how your browser handles cookies.

Browser controls vary between providers and versions.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies or browser storage may prevent certain BioMeetUp features from operating correctly, including authentication, session management and other Platform functionality.

8. How Long Cookies Remain on Your Device

Cookies and similar technologies may remain on your device for different periods depending on their purpose.

Session technologies generally expire when you close your browser or end the relevant session.

Persistent technologies may remain for longer so that preferences, authentication states or other permitted information can be remembered between visits.

You can remove stored cookies and similar browser data at any time using your browser or device settings.

Where third-party technologies are used, their retention periods may be determined by the relevant third-party provider.

9. Cookies and Personal Data

Information collected through cookies and similar technologies may constitute personal data under applicable privacy laws.

Where this occurs, we process that information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable privacy and data protection laws.

Our Privacy Policy provides further information about how we use personal data, applicable legal bases, international transfers, retention, your privacy rights and how to contact us.

10. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our website, Platform, technologies, legal requirements or data practices.

The current version will be published on our website and will identify the date it was last updated.

Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent in relation to material changes.
